PREVIOUS FILM MILESTONES May 2002 - Festival screening: franks & wieners was featured in the Hollywood Underground Film festival on May 11. The festival was held May 9-16, 2002, in Los Angeles. See Hollywood Underground Film Festival for more information. December 2000 - Video release: VHS video copies of the film became available and were distributed to fans, cast, crew, and supporters. The video featured the edited version of the film in pan-and-scan format to fill the television screen. November 2000 - World Premiere: franks & wieners debuted to the public at sold-out world premiere events on November 3 and 4, and they were a big hit! We then edited about 25 minutes off the film to create a better flow. This newly edited version was shown at screenings on November 10, November 30, and December 1, to very positive response. Admission to each show included the excellent soundtrack CD. September 2000 - Tickets Tickets Tickets: The world premiere of the film was announced for two dates in November. Tickets went on sale in September, and both dates sold out in about two weeks! The overwhelming response reflected strong local interest in the film. August 2000 - That's a wrap: Filming was completed! When filming finished, a lot of us went through movie-making withdrawal and post-production depression. Mike went into the lab to begin the tedious, brain-busting, hair-graying task of editing. This involved piecing together over 35 hours of tape we shot to create a full-length feature film! Thanks to everyone involved! February 2000 - Shooting Begins: Filming began February 26 on location in Wilmington, Delaware, with two of the easier scenes planned for the film. Initial dailies looked strong and showed lots of promise! Several technical glitches were identified in time to be ironed out before tackling the more complex scenes in coming weeks. Great work, everyone! January 2000 - Casting Calls: Casting calls were held on January 17 and 23, from 9 AM to 9 PM, at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware.
